Lady Obama Takes Vacation on Her Own, on a Budget.

Marie Obama took a modest vacation to the Cantabrian Coast, one of the poorest parts of Spain. She rested her head at a locally owned inn, spending a whopping $12.50 per night. The room shared a bathroom and a small sitting room with the occupants of the adjacent room.

While on vacation, she feasted on tuna and sardines, a local treat. She took an outing to a local market and strolled down to a thrift store where she purchased the outfit she wore that night to dinner. On the way back to her room, she splurged on a large piece of sabao, a sponge-like cake, and commented that more people in the United States should try eating it.

She visited the beach and a local soup kitchen where she had a bowl of soup and washed her own dish. Parting in such sweet sorrow, Lady Obama cried as she boarded the plane. She traveled coach with nothing but a single carry-on bag.

“Adios Spain! We will miss you!”
