Napolitano on Eunich Bomber: The System Worked

BM2

Facing a barrage of questions on the Sunday morning talk shows this week Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano took the opportunity to head off many of her critics and claim that “the system worked”.   This stance often perplexed and befuddled the commentators, on whose shows she appeared, but the former Arizona Governor remained stoic in her countenance and methodically made her case again and again every time the issue was raised.  Amongst her reasons given for the assertion that “they system worked” were the facts that the Christmas morning bomber failed in his mission and more importantly since she had directed all agents and agencies under her perview to “keep a close eye” on returning war veterans, Constitutionalists and people with Ron Paul stickers -affixed to the bumpers of their cars- not a single “one of them has managed to blow anything up, and that is what I call progress.  That is what I call real success.  The system worked and because it has worked so well you can bet that we will be expanding these measures and seek to apply them to many many more Americans where they work, live and play.”
