On A Certain Amount of Absurdity Readily Attributable to the Eco-fascists and those of a Grossly Similar Ilk
I’ve heard it suggested often enough by the eco-fascists -and those of a grossly similar ilk- that the largest among our members must be gifted with among the largest of the states conscriptions of liberty and property. That is to say they feel that fat people should pay higher taxes than those that are mostly of the other variety. That is not to say that those feelings are transmuted into demands and those demands are placed, often and directly, into the public discourse or into the governing houses by special interest lobbies. All the same they are. Their narrative follows the usual and predictably pedantic course. That the obese are complicit in a scheme to lower the general quality of American life by not being skinny and are thus subject to demands of a greater responsibility to the community. This is absurd. More importantly this is hilariously absurd. It is absolutely, undeniably, hilariously, uproariously, unequivocally and fantastically absurd. For good measure it is also somewhat ridiculously absurd as well. Its not the obese who seek the draconian authority to regulate our light bulbs, toilet bowls, pocket books, diets, breeding and breaths. Its not the obese who serve so emphatically the goal of ending our tenure on this planet as self-sovereign beings. The conspiracy to lower our quality of life is clearly and distinctly in the realm and amongst the purview of those who would use the largeness of certain individuals as a segue into compelling further fealty to the collective in the name of their cult. Sadly, and most chillingly, that is hardly the worst they have planned for us.
