Bruce Wayne Pushes Antitrust Case against Disney, Marvel

Gotham City- Billionaire Bruce Wayne, heir to the Wayne family fortune and Wayne Enterprises, has decried the purchase of Marvel Comics’ characters by the Walt Disney Company, citing possible antitrust violations. The deal between Disney and Marvel, allowing Disney to purchase Marvel’s characters for a sum of $4,000,000,000 was announced Monday amid a flurry of speculation regarding both companies’ futures.

Prolific comic book author, Stan Lee, argues any antitrust allegation is absurd. “Mr. Wayne is only trying to retain his relevance against a changing entertainment landscape,” said Lee. ”His recent movies have been blockbusters, but a pair of hit movies is no match for the power of theme parks combined with classic cartoon characters, a dedicated cable television channel, and a franchise of successful movies based on Marvel Comics characters! Mwa! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

Many fear where this consolidation of power may lead, noting that many prominent U.S. politicians have been accused of ties with Gotham City’s new breed of super-criminals. “Flagrantly corrupt politicians, combined with the magic of Disney and the power of Marvel, could spell disaster for simple law-abiding citizens, as well as for billionaire playboy do-gooders such as Bruce Wayne,” said Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon. “Even Batman will be out-numbered and out-equipped when compared to the sheer magnitude of resources being pooled by this agreement!”
